MEET THE PRO
JW Johnson grew up in Pittsburg, Kansas before relocating with his family to Naples, Florida to pursue a tennis career alongside his sister, Jorja. After the move, pickleball became a way for the Johnson family to connect with their new community, and it quickly evolved into a professional calling. With his mother and sister also competing at the highest level, JW has been immersed in elite competition from the start.
Johnson has played professional pickleball since 2019 and is consistently ranked among the top players in the world. At just 19 years old, he became the youngest player in history to win a men’s singles title. In 2022 alone, he earned 47 medals, including three triple crowns, cementing his reputation as one of the most dominant and versatile players on tour.
His career highlights include winning the US Open Men’s Doubles Championship, the US Open Mixed Doubles Championship, and the World Men’s Singles Championship. To date, JW has collected 38 gold medals in men’s doubles, 21 in mixed doubles, and 19 in singles. Currently ranked No. 2 in the world in mixed doubles on the Carvana PPA Tour alongside his sister Jorja, he also serves as captain of the Dallas Flash and is a 2024 Major League Pickleball Champion.
