ALL of our lenses have the Chromashift technology integrated into the lens and paired with other filtrations sciences. Chromashift is a lens technology where we manipulate the visual representation of color to produce a more intense color profile and "Shift" the actual color of the intended target. This is a technology where we use special color dyes to produce faster registration of specific bands of color. Further Chromashift has the ability to change the way the eye sees color. The basic technical benefit is the manipulation of color for positive visual registration, allowing athletes to enjoy a very specific technical benefit of color shift for a competitive advantage.

Infra Red Radiation is a part of the light spectrum starting around 780nm. It is not visible, but it is perceived as heat. Both your skin and Eyes absorb a significant amount of IR on the court and your eyes can heat up causing eye fatigue and noticeable discomfort.  Pilla Zeiss lenses use a special IR coating science to help reduce IR radiation and allow the eyes to feel cooler behind the lens. This coating science helps the eyes stay more alive and alert keeping hand eye coordination at a high level over a longer period. A lower temperature behind the lens enhances the performance of the eye allowing the athlete to perform at a higher level.

Lenses using our multi-layer coating ICE application benefit from principals that deploy the best of Hydrophobics and a proprietary Hydrophilic technology on the backside of the lens while complementing our Infra Red “IR” color enhancing filters. The ICE nomenclature delivers a technology that makes the lens surfaces very slippery. This solution does not allow water to properly adhere to the lens surface, reducing fogging on the backside while also making the lens extremely easy to clean, repelling oils and water. Pilla ICE coatings also feature color enhancing abilities capitalizing on the engineering of Chromashift and “Infra Red” lens science making the color filters more robust.
